1975 Harley Shovelhead Bobber X-15

Kevin from Harrison Township, Michigan, United States made available these photos of this extreme Harley Shovelhead Bobber which he has named the X-15. Kevin makes a living designing and fabricating aftermarket parts and Harley Davidson motorcycle accessories through his company Fabricator Kevin's Steel Chopper Parts.

This custom bobber motorcycle started life as a 1975 74" FXE, and she was Kevin's 2006 contender for The Horse Backstreet Choppers magazine's Chop-Off contest, held at Smoke Out VII in Salisbury, North Carolina. This X-15 was chosen as the winning bike, and was featured on the cover of The Horse Magazine in December of 2006.

The X-15 bike took 7 months to build, and is loaded with specially made components: 7.5" dual disc front brakes, custom mid controls, clip-on handlebars, fully polished stainless steel seat, oil bag, fender struts and control levers. There are very few parts that aren't either hand-made, or highly modified.

The 74" motor received a .050" bore, and a new set of pistons to match. Kevin replaced anything that was out of spec. The motor was balanced and also features an Andrews A grind cam, S&S oil pump, and Manley valves, valve guides and springs.
